ABOUT TRINITY PARISH

Trinity Parish provides an Episcopal Church presence for residents of Lawrence and parts of Mercer Counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. Trinity Parish is part of the Episcopal Church USA Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania.

We are a friendly community of people committed to focusing on our mission to preach the Gospel not only with our lips but with our lives both through outreach to the larger communities of which we are a part and maintenance of the wondrous legacy our forebears left us -- our beautiful gothic style church building and grounds. Our shield proclaims our faith in the Power, Wisdom and Goodness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Our current Rector, the Rev. Dennis A. Blauser, was installed on February 22, 2004 by the Rt. Rev. Robert D. Rowley, Jr Bishop of the Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Under Fr. Denny’s patient guidance and encouragement to accept change, Trinity Parish’s future looks bright.

We have embraced Bishop Rowley’s Cross model of ministry. In his words, “The vertical and horizontal planes of the cross represent to the Christian the Mission of the Church…Since we are the Church, through the Cross we as Christians are called to ministries that enable others to be united with God, the vertical dimension of the Church’s ministry. We are also called to ministries that restore people to unity with each other, the horizontal dimension.”

A view of the Chancel

Following this Cross model, Trinity is alive with faith and hope for the future. We’re learning more and more every day that: “The Ministers of the Gospel are laity, bishops, priests and deacons. The ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church.”
(BCP Catechism, p. 856)

Trinity Parish is an exciting place to be in 2005. We hope you who read our story will visit us. If you’re looking for a spiritual home we’d love to walk with you on your journey in faith. If you’re just passing through our area, we’d love for you to worship with us on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. We invite you to visit our Photo Gallery to view our growing collection of historical pictures, our stained glass windows, and our recent ministry and mission activities.
